If you have a passion for skincare and beauty, you’ve probably considered going to esthetics school. Now the next big question would be, do I choose basic or master esthetics? Although basic esthetics and master esthetics are similar, they have different skill sets and career paths. Both can be great options and you can’t go wrong with choosing either.
What is esthetics?
First, let’s dive into what esthetics is. Esthetics provides preventative care for the skin. It gives the skin an improvement in appearance, tone, and texture. This can come from many different treatments and could be in the form of facials, waxing, makeup, and more.
One reason we love the beauty industry is that the need for estheticians is on the rise at an 11% growth rate over the next 10 years. There’s also always a new treatment or technique to learn, which makes it an exciting industry to be a part of. We’re going to dive into the difference between both basic and master esthetics so you can make the right decision for yourself.
Basic Esthetics
Our basic esthetics program is 600 hours, which can be completed in as little as 4.5 months. The time frame in which you graduate is dependent on if you choose a full-time or part-time schedule. To help our students thrive in our program, we break it up into levels, beginning with orientation. Our students begin hands-on learning right off the bat so they can start building their own clientele right out of orientation.
Skills
An esthetician is someone who works with clients in making them feel better about their skin. In our basic esthetics course, you’ll learn about all things skincare.

Careers
With so many skills learned, where you take yourself after you graduate is completely up to you. A great place to start when thinking of a potential career is to look at what’s more important to you. Master Esthetics
Training in master esthetics gives our graduates an edge in the beauty industry. As they are considered skincare experts, they’ll have an advantage. Our program is 1200 hours and can be completed in as little as 8.5 months. We offer both part-time and full-time schedules in hopes that our students will be able to still pursue their dreams if they have a tight schedule.
