PHILOSOPHY
MakeUp can be a beautiful thing and when someone feels beautiful a power is then obtained. I love helping others recognize the power in beauty and expressing it with art, color, textures, and brushstrokes. MakeUp is my medium and faces are my canvas.
DISCOVERY
At the age of two I started painting and continued all through college while studying art, architecture, and design. My grandfather, a university fine arts professor once said to me.. “Don’t you wish your canvas could talk back to you and tell you how it feels about your brushstrokes?” This stuck with me and I quickly found myself transferring my art and design training into the makeup industry in Los Angeles. The fundamentals of art, design, and architecture can be implemented beautifully to enhance subtlety or capture a complete transformation of one’s face and body.
In my 20 years as a makeup artist I have been empowered to influence and teach over 250,000 clients/makeup artists world wide. Each moment I spend with a new client or artist is a moment of learning and empowerment. A confidence boost and a sense of fulfillment. I love helping others feel good and if its a color, a texture a shadow or a lipstick that does it for them that day then I am happy too.
FAVORITE PART
My favorite part of makeup is that it is forever changing. Moods change and so should your makeup. Trends, techniques, innovative technologies, and products… my job as an artist is to create, using all of these, something powerful and inspiring to others. Being creative is the only way that my passion of art isn’t “just a job” but has truly remained a passion avenue for me to take every single day. I love my work if you call playing, painting and creating, work!
